Summer...

The weeks disappear and now it’s the middle of June. We’ve had some really great summer days the last few weeks, so I couldn’t sit inside to write on this blog :-) Now the temperature has dropped a little, and it’s windy so then it’s time to go online again!

Life as a “mother of two” is very hectic, but it’s nice too. Nina and Amalie are very cute together and enjoy each others company.

Playing in "playa del Ås"

It’s nice to have a friend to talk to while eating lunch...

Nina is telling Amalie everything she needs to know about Australia...

...and once I caught a snake, and it was THIS big!!!

Amalie loves to sit on the swing

Nina loves sitting in the sand

Mum look, I found SAND!!!

Sometimes even BIG girls likes the swing

Well, as I said, the summer is here and we’ve been going to the beaches in the area. Compared to in Sydney we only use about 15 minutes to get to the beach here, and it’s usually no problem to find a place to park the car. If we only had summer for a longer time each year...but I guess it would have been more people living in this country then, he, he. But the beaches aren’t really like the Australian beaches I have to admit, but at least for small kids it’s a lot safer without the waves, the strong currents and the sharks :-) Anyway, the beaches work for us...it's sand and it's water what more do you really need :-)

Nina went to the beach with her boyfriend, Andreas.

Compared to Australia it’s normal to sit in the sun and not in the shade in Norway, and on nice summer days everyone will be outside…and most of the people will sit around in the sun. But we have realised that we get too much sun (and no wind to cool us of) where we live now. Therefore we are really happy we bought a pavilion to have on our terrace last year, because when the sun is up (and it doesn’t really go down for very long in Norway in the summer) we get really baked in the sun outside our house, and it’s impossible to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather. But the last weeks we’ve been having most meals outside and Nina even got to eat naked one day, he, he. It’s easier to rinse her of than to wash all her clothes again and again.

I don't like strawberries mum!

...but they are fun to squeeze though.

Nina and her friend Guro (and their mums) went to the beach on a weekday, and then we almost got the beach to our selves (only about 5 other mums with their kids there).

The girls just woke up after a nice nap in the shade

The days I’ve been looking after Amalie it’s been too much work to go to the beach, so then we rather splashed around in Nina’s new pool in the garden. Nina always gets in a good mood as soon as she sees her swimsuit and she even picked it up when we were at the beach to tell us that she wanted to go for another swim, he, he.

Amalie is unaware of the danger that is waiting in the pool...

...Nina is getting ready to attack the crocodile that is waiting for it’s dinner...

...hey, but wait, we don’t have crocodiles in Norway...

...puh, it’s fake, sorry, false alarm Amalie...

...AHHH, then I can relax!!!

Another way to cool of in the heat is to eat ice cream...but it's not always so easy to eat something that melts in front of you if you are a bit too slow!

Yum, ice-cream!

Hey, what's wrong with this stupid food, I can't get it on the spoon!

MUM, THIS FOOD IS STUPID!!!

I've got an idea...

...I can just use my hands...don't need that stupid spoon, HAH!

Mum, if I can only have a little more ice cream I promise to be an angel the rest of the day!!!

Well, I guess water is alright too...
